Finsbay Flatiron

 

To start off The Student Scoff blog- my mate date(s) today were my friends Ellen and Evie!

Today’s venue was Finsbay Flatiron. Located Woodlands Road, the fun retro looking interior gives the bar a cool vibe for their customers.

Finsbay offers a traditional menu which includes foods such as steaks, burgers etc- prices start at £12+. Although the menu looked amazing, it’s not the reason for the visit. Finsbay’s hidden gem is the £3.50 lunch menu- yes, only £3.50!

 

The lunch menu offers a variety of different steak sandwiches- all for the same price. Today we went for the Mac and cheese fritter and bacon jam signature flatiron sandwich and the Atlantic buttered Prawn sandwich.

Some of you may be thinking the portion is questionable… but considering the extremely low price point, I think its very reasonable. We added the beef dripping chips and a peppercorn sauce to the order- 2 potions of chips between 3 people was great portion along with the sandwiches. To wash down our meal we stuck to soft drinks which reasonably priced- £2-£3.

Both plates were unreal. Amazing taste! Amazing quality! Clean plates all round!

 

Service was super friendly/ efficient, and the food came out in 15 minutes which was great as we are hungry students who just came from a lecture. After a wee catch up with the girls, the bill comes over…

 

For £10 per person for a steak sandwich, including toppers, a steak sauce, and a drink each was great value for us students and will be a staple when planning future lunch dates.
