Chateau X

To start off today’s blog, my guest tonight was Keir!

 

Tonight, was date night- what’s the perfect date? Steak dinner of course.

That took us to Chateau X, located in Finnieston, the stylish steak restaurant- owned by well-known company Six By Nico is fairly new to the food scene in Glasgow- only opening in December 2021. The venue put their full attention on showcasing their amazingly cooked steaks- varying from flatirons to tomahawk steaks.

 

We visited on a Monday evening which is their F*** Mondays night- they advertise on their social medias that every Monday their flatiron steaks are only £10 instead of £13. The menu shows a variety of mouth watering side options to add to the steaks- which are needed I’d say, and a selection of steak sauces.

As there was only one option on the menu, we both went for the flatiron steaks which were accompanied by some tomato, mushroom, and watercress. The waiter recommended to add on some sides, so we chose the skinny fries, peppercorn sauce and a garlic butter. Everything was amazing, great portions for the price.

 

Even though it was a Monday we decided to get some cocktails and beer to match perfectly with our steaks- Keir going for a pint of Tennents and myself splashing out on a Paloma.  

 

Service was super friendly- great chat, and even with the busy environment, service and food was topnotch!

To end our night, the waiter informed us on their free dessert! A 99 ice cream cone with the option to add some caramel sauce to. It was the perfect little surprise to finish a great night.

 

The bill arrived …..which raised a few eyebrows. We knew this was going to be slightly pricey due to the addition of alcoholic drinks but it seemed the £10 steak deal was not applied- confusing as I said earlier they do post on their social media advertising the deal however, since it would only make £6 difference, we bit our tongues and paid.

I still give Chateau X the Student Scoff stamp of approval as I do believe it is still good value for money- where else are you going to find two steaks for under £30 in Glasgow?
